This year the schedule of Xojo Developer's Conference (XDC) was crazy-tight with the normal xDev deadline, but I thought I could get the new issue out within a few days of the end of the conference. Unlike last year, when I came down with the flu while still in Las Vegas, this time I arrived home healthy. That only lasted a few days, however, when that tickle in my throat became soreness that I recognized from experience as the beginning of illness. The next day it was full-blown flu, and I had to postpone this issue longer than I liked.

I've decided this is one of the drawbacks of working from home: I'm not exposed to the bugs I'd be if I had a regular workplace or children bringing home infections from school. This makes me more susceptible to colds and such when I travel, and when I do catch something, it really knocks me out.

So my apologies, but the XDC Extravaganza you've been anticipating is finally here!

In This Issue

Obviously the majority of this issue is about the Xojo Developer's Conference in Austin. If you missed it, hopefully we've got enough coverage you'll feel like you attended. I cover the news from the conference in "The Xojo Future" and a separate feature, "Too Much Fun!" includes lots of photographs and stories about what it was like to attend.

We've also got "real" Xojo content, as JC Cruz is back with more on his ongoing health journal project, we have some great tips in the Tips and Tricks column, and there are more power user techniques in Beginner's Corner. For this issue's review, I was encouraged to write about Apple Watch; though it's not strictly Xojo-related, it is new technology and of great interest to Xojo developers, so I wrote about my experiences with the watch at the conference. Don't worry—we'll be back to more traditional content next issue. In the meantime, enjoy!
