Excerpt of article text...

The final release of 2016, Xojo 2016 Release 4 came out in December. This release has over 170 changes and improvements, with a major focus on Windows support.

In particular, there are these notable Windows updates:

* Windows HiDPI support is no longer beta. You can easily create your own HiDPI Windows apps just by flipping a switch and updating your graphics.

* The Xojo IDE is now HiDPI when run on Windows with a HiDPI resolution.

* The Xojo graphics subsystem now uses Direct2D and DirectWrite for improved drawing speed and more modern graphics support (such as hardware acceleration and transparency).

* Your Windows builds can now automatically include the necessary Universal Windows Runtime DLLs alongside your built apps. Although we still recommend you use the official Microsoft Redistributable packaged within your installer.
