Full text of article...

I can't believe XDC is already over! I guess it's time to start anticipating next year's event in sunny Miami (https://www.xojo.com/xdc/).

I had an adventure going to XDC this year. I wrote about it with lots of pictures. It's not all related to Xojo, but it's about my experience, so hopefully you'll enjoy it.

I also wrote a separate article on all the exciting news and upcoming changes to Xojo—and there’s a lot to cover. The biggest news is the 180-degree switch concerning the "new framework," which Xojo is now abandonning. This will create some minor chaos in the interim, but will make things much easier for us developers in the long run.

In This Issue

The bulk of this issue is my XDC coverage, but we also have some traditional code-based articles.

JC Cruz continues his data predicates series, this time focusing on expanding his class with new features.

Sam Rowlands writes about dark interfaces. In particular, he demonstrate how to add a custom slider control that matches the dark interface you're using.

In our columns, Paul explains the new features of Xojo 2018r1, Craig continues his talk on PITR, Scott demos MailgunX, and I write about simple refactoring. Enjoy!
