Excerpt of article text...
Happy birthday MonkeyBread Software! This year the company has been in business for 20 years. In 2000 the company was founded by Christian Schmitz. Just in time for our birthday, our company has won the Xojo Design Award this year for the best plugin.
The MBS Xojo Plugins is a huge toolbox. With the plugins you can realize things in Xojo which were not originally possible. For example, you can work with C libraries and preemptive threads.
The plugin collection is divided into 40 plugins, 500 plugin parts, of which 20 have been added this year alone. The plugins contain 2,700 classes—200 of them were added this year—and you find more than 68,000 items in the documentation (4,000 new items). In over 2,100 examples, you can learn how to use the plugins. This year we have added more than 100 new examples for you. The plugins are not only supported in the latest Xojo version, but can also run on older versions.
In this article I want to show you what is new in the plugins since last year.
WebViewer
In Xojo, you can use a web viewer in your applications, but sometimes you might want more functionality. In this case, you can use our
WKWebViewControlMBS
Control which provides you an HTML viewer. The plugin uses Webkit 2.x for 64-bit and WebKit 1.x for 32-bit. You have the possibility to execute JavaScript code on a web page, fill in form fields, create screenshots of your web page as a picture, and decide policy events. Using those events, you can determine whether a URL is loaded or whether its content is downloaded by your application. You can even enable private browsing to avoid cookies and history being stored.
