Happy New Year everyone and welcome to
xDev Magazine's 21st year! Congratulations to Marc Zeedar and I applaud his herculean efforts in getting this magazine out like clockwork.Xojo 2022 Release 4 and 4.1
Xojo wrapped up 2022 with another version: 2022 Release 4. The big new feature for this release was the addition of 64-bit ARM support.
Now you can run native 64-apps on your favorite ARM Linux distributions, including the Raspberry Pi. With 64-bit you can take advantage of more memory and avoid having to install any 32-bit ARM compatibility libraries, which can be challenging.
As with other architectures, to build 64-bit ARM apps select
Linux
in Build Settings and then change theArchitecture
property toARM 64-bit
and clickBuild
.We also updated the SQLite library to 3.39.4, which allows you to use several new SQLite features in your Xojo apps. Most significantly is that you can now parse JSON that is contained in table column data.
