Excerpt of article text...
Xojo 2023 Release 4 shipped in December. We aren't always able to ship four releases of Xojo in one year, especially a year with a big new feature such as Android, but it's exciting to do so this year!
This release of Xojo has significantly improved performance. Some users are reporting that their compiled apps run intensive code several times faster. Even Xojo itself benefits from these performance improvements and you should find the IDE to be much snappier, with faster project load and compile times.
There is a new
Barcode
class for Android that can be used to scan barcodes. Android also got a bunch of bug fixes as it continues through its Beta phase. We are pleased to see so many users getting their Android apps into the Play Store and out to their own testers.Xojo includes hundreds of sample projects, but it has always been rather tricky finding the one you need. Now you can search for them from the Project Chooser window with the ability to filter by Kind and Platform. Text descriptions also appear in the Chooser when an example is selected and this text is what gets searched.
Plus there are many bug fixes across the board as well.
