Wow, just a week ago I was in Andernach, Germany at the 2024 Monkeybread Xojo Conference. While smaller in size than some official Xojo Conferences, it was also more intimate, social, and a wonderful networking experience.

In This Issue

Obviously the cover story for this issue is the conference. Find out what Xojo President Geoff Perlman announced about the future of the development environment, learn something from the sessions, and see lots of pictures about what it was like. I also write about my travels through Europe (with pictures).

For those loving my design pattern series, it's back covering the Facade pattern—part of my presentation in Germany.

In our other features, Eugene came up with another in his Raspberry Pi series, this time showing how to control a motor.

Tim Dietrich has an article on transactional email services, demonstrating how to send email via Twilio SendGrid.

In our columns, Tim interviews Jeremie Leroy, our favorite Xojo developer from Paris. Paul covers the rules of scope in your Xojo code. Stefanie explains how to use the Monkeybread plugins to talk to Phidgets, and I show how to use ChatGPT in your own Xojo programs. Enjoy!
