Excerpt of article text...
A few months ago, a fellow Xojo developer reached out to me for help. They were working with a prospective client who was interested in having a mobile app developed. The developer was struggling to create a proposal for the project.
Before meeting with the developer, I created a list of all the things that I believe developers need to consider when preparing proposals for mobile app development projects. The list proved to be helpful because it included several aspects that the developer hadn't considered. It helped them prepare a thorough, detailed proposal—which impressed the prospect and ultimately led to the developer landing the project.
In this article, I'll share the list and elaborate on some of the items on it.
The App's Purpose and Functionality
One of the most important things to consider is the nature of the app. What, exactly, does your client want the app to do? What functionality will it provide to users? Is it primarily going to be used to provide access to information? Is it going to be used for data capture? Will it need to provide ecommerce-related functionality?
Additionally, you should consider any platform and/or device-specific functionality that the app will need access to. Will it need access to the camera or microphone? Will it need access to location services? Will it need to be able to make calls, send text messages, and so on?
